Default Im sick and tired of losing because of this....

Im so fed up when i play pvp battles to get to the hall of heroes, when people leave your team, its selfish and ruins the game for everyone else I wouldnt mind if this just happened occasionaly but it happens maybe 1 in 3 battles i play. Sometimes without reason or warning, or just because we are losing at the time. I like the challenge but its virtually impossible to win when you are a member or two down. My suggestion is couldnt there be a limit to how many times you can leave a battle in pvp, maybe resulting in a temp ban?

There is a problem with that tho. I was in a PvP match last night with a guildie and his Guild Wars crashed right as it started. His Guild Wars crashes atleast 4 times a night sometimes on the way to a new area that took an hour to get there or in a mission such as Ring Of Fire. Its happened, and its very annoying since those missions are SO LONG.

Back to it tho, some people leave because they are retard selfish people, some people leave because they have no choice. I was on the otherday and my Interent crapped out on me. The fact is that theres no reasonable way that I can think of to stop people from leaving. Best thing I can think of is when a player leaves have a henchie of that persons primary class take his place at spawn or elsewhere if in a mission.

Well i came up with a solution that would rank someones quit rates, you can do this without affecting those who lose connection or crashes, by attaching this feature through the same function that brings up the "this action will cause you to leave the group". Basicly when you hit the "Yes leave the group" button it would give you a +1 to your "quiters" rank. So you can see if someone is a quiter or not B4 ya waste all your time. This only counts if you quit the group because the code is inside the "Yes leave party's" click event.

Sounds complicated but it really isnt. I have an associates degree in CIS and am hoping to go back this fall for my Bachelors Degree with a concentration in video game design this fall.

This Idea would be best perhaps if it was only used for the PvP arena's. because if your in a PvE grp then once you finish the mission most of the time you want to just "zone" back for your reward.

This Idea wasnt well recieved it was thought better to let these kinda grievers get away with it or for the fact that 1 or 2 people might get hurt by it. Also this will not affect them from simply unplugging their connection (wich I agree but if they truely have no better life than to ruin peoples fun than restarting their connections and re-logging into the game then more power to them LOL. But I believe they will soon relise its simply not worth the extra time to get thier azzhole fix). As for hurting someone who really had NO choice (becasue somethimes real life issues come up and I understand this) you could also set it up where you get 2 "FREE" quits B4 it showed up on your rank, also a "Forgiveness feature" where as every 5 completed missions you lose 1 "quiters rank" so unless you are constantly having issues it really doesnt show up. Also if thier was a rank it would become very obvious very quickly who the grievers are and those that are not.

Theres also the "Alt F4 method" of quiting which is the way around that.<--Just helping, though your idea is very nice I like it alot. Alt F4'in is almost the same as quiting but doesn't go through all that "Click yes to leave party" crap

I think that groups should be allowed to aquire more members should some quit, or if your game crashes, you should be given the option to rejoin should your team still need you.

The more mad you get about it the more people will find ways around anything you would want put in to stop it just to piss people off.

If people have valid reasons to leave they have valid reasons to leave, sometimes people just have to go. You can't attempt to punish them for this.

The simple solution would be to play with people you know.

Didnt know that, but its a simple fix for my idea to work they would have to "Call" thefunction that brings up the option to quit the group for all ways of exiting your group. To make it complete id have to see the code and dammit they wont show me LOL.

No, nothing like that... there are some kids that "have" to get off, probably because a parent says so... or perhaps their brother "has" to get on... or maybe they might not even suppose to be on it? Or, it's someone who has to go to work, and didn't expect to be on that long (casual gamer)... and sorry, but they don't have you pay 50$ just to be punished for something that isnt technicly their fault/problem, it's the problem of the team now, because they are a man short...

A great fix for this has already been suggested...

**Add henchmen of the corresponding character type into their place**-- although it's not as good as a human player, it's still a Very nice thing to have... and perhaps if they add a rejoin if they go linkdead (which is what happens in some cases), they can simply take the place of the henchman, and continue to play...**

Remember, they don't want to punish the casual gamers, they want to Help the gamers that are being "gimped" in other ways...

Id rather make them find ways around it than keeping it simple IMO.

As why they would have to quit on people 3 times B4 it shows up as 1 quit. And can be redeemed by acctually completing 5 missions. And reach zero by completing 15 missions.

Kinda hard when every PUG i get into in HoH people quit after the 1st person leaves B4 we clear out the Rifts. Then we havta go on 1 or 2 people short like the OP said. And HAVING to join a large guild shouldnt have to be the solution.

Yeah people are so dumb that they join a group knowing they have to leave in 15-30 minutes, then they SHOULD be punished especially if they cant complete 5 meesley missions to erase their ignorance. And if they are kids who ARE NOT suposed to be playing at that time then they should be punished. Why people are so interested in defending someones fun when that person doesnt care about the other people in thier grp is beyond me. This system will only hurt the habitual abusers not someone who has to leave.

Yeah the henchman idea is a help and could LESSON the burden for the team and could be worked in as well. But, its not a solution to the problem. when this happens in over 1/2 the HoH missions I get into there is a problem (Think its about the same ratio for everone,or im exptreemely unlucky).

Yea, i'm totaly not defending them, because it pisses me off to No other end when someone leaves... But, i can see where they might be coming at, because i remember being a kid... See'n that i'm only 19 it's fine for me(And the no monthly fee is Buyable!!, insurance, house payments, kid payments... way too much at low end jobs : (

Yea, i'm thinking if they buffed up henchman to have Real armor and Real attributes, the same way they do with monsters... we might actually see this be useable... since they will also Never go away from targets to start a 1v1 fight, when a healer is up and living well. I mean... the mage henchman (if anybody has used yet) is Actually up to par with another normal mage, without a good secondary (You know, those pure fire ones without Superior runes)

All I want is for people to say "Sorry guys, I have to go" before they quit.

When people don't say anything and leave, it just makes people angry. Apologizing beforehand, compensates for it, somewhat.

Well, that's mostly for me, personally. I'm pretty forgiving.

Yes i noticed alot leave without saying anything but GW may of crashed or lost connection or something you never know.

The henchman idea would be great though. Also it would work well but maybe make then +2 levels to make it more like a human player :P.

Yes, actually just today i was doign the blood and smoke quest. By the way, while im on the subject, the quest is bugged. I went with 6 people on the quest and at one point u need to kill a boss after a long map and get an item, well, i killed the boss and the boss only dropped 1 of the item. Which meant the other 5 people in my party were screwed and just wasted there time doing this quest.

Me, being the noble person i am , warped outa the area and came back to help my fellow party members and get them the item for themselves (this quest was pretty damn long) but after i helped get the item for 1 person, that person would leave. This made the quest just that much harder. eventually it was just down to me and 1 elemntalist and the mission became impossible. We ended up having to give up, and i ended up getting nothing out of it because i gave my item which i got from the first run to the last person, me being the sap i am. Then i just found my self doing this quest again, and 1 guy got it, and left, and the party i was in were low levels, so i was screwed again.

Im hoping for a fix on this bug or either not allowing people to leave there game =P

Alot of people may have bad connections/computers, they drop because of equiptment failures, and although it is annoying, they shouldn't be penalized for it, they are already coping with difficult play as it is.

They could design a function that disallows players to leave PvP match until it ends, but then players would just turn off the game when they wanted to quit prematurely. They could add a function that low rates players for purposely leaving a match, but then they would just pull the plug instead. And they could low rate players for leaving a battle by any means, but this makes more difficulties for player who don't leave on purpose, hell it could be server failer or lag, is that thier fault?

In the end, it works both ways, it may seem cheap but at least it's not all one sided, unless your that unlucky person with the poor equipment. The best option is to do PvP with people you know are reliable, this is what party PvP is about, but then the enemy is going to be more reliable as well, in the end it turns out fair. Nothings foolproof, but that shouldn't stop them from coming up with a way to reduce this, the question is how.

I don't think it's all bad to have a temporary ban.... from PvP, like 10 or 20 minutes, players that are interested in PvP woln't want to forfeit thier PvP privilages for 10 mintues instead of simply taking a loss, and it's not so bad for someone whos lagging out, if thier lagging out then they should be removed from PvP for a bit for the benifit of other players, instead of screwing up several battles with thier poor connection.

Yes, i rather get a support henchmen than a - to my quit things. Cause sometimes i got an hour before dinner and i think, oh well one coop mission couldnt mind. And than the party Gathering takes a while, or the mission is just to hard to complete in an hour. So i need to quit for dinner.
